After determining our greatest need in
our department is the same as last year, we are again going to try for
SCBA. Out of the 13 SCBA's that we have, only 4 are compliant under
OSHA and NFPA standards.
Would it be better to replace these also since they would not have the
integrated PASS device. (Trying to keep them all consistent.)?
Some other safety features are; light
weight carbon tank, voice amplifier and the buddy breathing system.
Do you feel these features are important
and would they be looked at as safety features or bells and whistles?
After attending the Grant Writing Assistance
Class I realize we want 1 SCBA for each firefighter.
Did I understand you as saying this would
be considered a New Program because each firefighter did not have their
own SCBA, so we were never 100% compliant?
Is there a standard that says each firefighter
should have their own SCBA?
Is a RIT team high on the list again this
year?
