STATE
CBRNE REVIEW
30
applications will receive State HSEM CBRNE and Commo review on
Monday May 23, 2005.
Last year as well as this year,
the Fire Grants
Program Office (FGPO) conducts what they're referring to as the State
Technical Review. FGPO identify any applications that are in the
fundable range that contain either CBRNE or Communication Systems and
they put them in front of the State Homeland Security representatives
to determine that the application 1) is consistent with the State's
strategy and 2) isn't duplicative of any State initiatives already
funded or about to be funded. Any application that is not
consistent
or that is duplicative will not get funded.
Last year, one application (nationally) was found to be inconsistent by
a State rep and FGPO didn't fund that portion of the application.
Then, the State backed off the statement and they ended up funding the
whole thing anyway.
The
review is
conducted by the FGPO with
subject matter specialists from DHS (CBRNE and Commo
specialists).
The
review is next week Monday the 23rd at the Doubletree Hotel in Crystal
City, VA, near National Airport.
This
year, Minnesota
has less than 30
applications on the table for State review.
